Patna. Mokama of Bihar has once again been burnt in the fire of political violence. This game of blood and politics, which has returned after almost 20 years, has shaken the politics of the state. The arrest of JD(U) candidate Anant Singh and the murder of Jan Suraj worker Dular Chand Yadav have heated up the entire election atmosphere. The Election Commission (EC) has also issued orders for transfer of Patna SP (Rural) and action against many officers, showing strictness.

Apart from Anant Singh, who else was arrested?

Late Saturday night, Bihar Police arrested controversial former MLA Anant Singh from his house in Barh. He is accused of playing a role in the murder of Jan Suraj supporter Dularchand Yadav. Police have also arrested two other people, Manikant Thakur and Ranjit Ram. Patna SSP Kartikeya Sharma said that according to the post-mortem report, Yadav died of cardiorespiratory failure due to “hard object injury to the heart and lungs”. That means this attack was very violent.

Has the 20 year old game of 'blood and politics' returned to Mokama?

Before the voting of Mokama to be held on 6th November, the entire area is under the cordon of police and administration. Last Thursday, Jan Suraj Party worker Dular Chand Yadav was brutally murdered while he was campaigning for party candidate Piyush Priyadarshi. The post-mortem report revealed that Yadav died due to injuries on his heart and lungs with a sharp object. After this tension spread in the entire area. There is an atmosphere of fear in Mokama after the murder of Dular Chand Yadav. Local people are saying that this is the same violent atmosphere which was seen when Anant Singh was in active politics.

Election Commission's strictness: Patna SP and 3 officers removed

Considering the matter as very serious, the Election Commission ordered the transfer of Patna Rural SP Vikram Sihag and suspension of three officers. The Commission said that conducting fair elections in Mokama is its priority. Also, instructions have been given to deploy new officers in place of Barh's SDM, SDPO-1 and SDPO-2. This action shows the strictness of the Election Commission that it wants to adopt against the elements who disturb law and order.

Will Anant Singh's arrest be a blow to JD(U)?

Anant Singh, known as the “Mahubali face” of Bihar politics, is now in jail. The arrest of the JD(U) candidate may affect the party's image. This case of Mokama is no longer just a murder, but it has become a test of electoral politics and law and order of Bihar. EC's strictness, police action and public fear - all together are making this election the most high-voltage contest in Bihar. In the coming days, it will become clear whether “Mokama’s firing” will change the reality of democracy or justice will prevail.

When will votes be cast in Mokama?

Voting is to be held in Mokama on 6th November and counting of votes is to be held on 14th November, but even before that the atmosphere here is filled with fear and suspense. The question is arising whether this was just an election clash or is there some deep political conspiracy behind it?
