Berkshire Hathaway the company run by Warren Buffett has reported a profit increase of 17% this year which has largely resulted from less volatility in its operations and full returns on its investments. The company still holds a tremendous cash pile. Last month Berkshire Hathaway invested $9.7 billion in OxyChem. However at the end of September there was $381.7 billion (approximately ₹34 lakh crore) worth of cash in the holdings and it has not dropped much since.
