Kash Patel shared the information on social media
. In a post shared on social media, Kash Patel said, “This morning, the FBI foiled a potential terrorist attack and arrested several people in Michigan who were allegedly plotting a violent attack during Halloween. More information will come soon. Thank you to all the men and women of the FBI and law enforcement agencies everywhere who are on duty 24 hours a day and fulfilling our mission of protecting our nation.” Although Kash Patel did not specify where in Michigan the FBI conducted the operation, Michigan police said the FBI conducted an operation in the Dearborn area.
The suspects are suspected of having links with extremists.
The Dearborn area is famous for the Ford Motor Company headquarters and the city has a large Arab American population. It is not known what type of terrorist attack this was. Latin American drug traffickers and the anti-fascist movement Antifa have also been designated as terrorists under President Trump’s administration. According to media reports, investigators believe the plot was inspired by Islamic State extremism and are investigating whether those detained were in contact with extremists online. This investigation includes conversations in an online chat room, which some of the detained suspects participated in. According to one person, the group had discussed carrying out the attack around Halloween.
