Good Morning Britain star Kate Garraway has revealed one star from the Celebrity Traitors who declined to join a WhatsApp group chat. The 58-year-old journalist is one of nineteen stars invited to participate in the first-ever celebrity edition of The Traitors. The show was filmed earlier this year, and all the stars were then invited to join in a group chat; however, Kate has shared that one person snubbed the invitation. According to The Mirror, the ITV presenter explained that it was, in fact, Claudia Winkleman, the host of the gripping BBC show, who decided to decline the chat. Other celebrities who took part also include Tom Daley, Mark Bonnar, Clare Balding, and Joe Marler.

Kate said: "The WhatsApp group is popping off all day and night, actually. It's brilliant. We invited Claudia to join the group because we all adore Claudia obviously. But she said no."

Speaking about creating a group chat, she added: "She [Claudia] said you need a place that's just for you guys now that you're out and you know what's going on.

"Because obviously, you know, there's so much that I didn't know that I've learned by watching it - all the comments that are made when you're not in the room."

Kate was also reportedly 'triggered' during her experience on Celebrity Traitors. The Good Morning Britain presenter has spoken about how she initially refused to take part in a coffin stunt as it reminded her of her late husband's death; Garraway tragically lost her husband, Derek Draper, in January 2024 at the age of 56.

The former political adviser had been living with extreme complications from COVID-19 after he first contracted the disease in 2020. During the second episode of Celebrity Traitors, an unaired scene involving coffin carrying was featured, and according to The Sun, Kate was counselled by Alan Carr and Celia Imrie.

She said to the publication: "You don't know what's coming next and so you find yourself walking on by the coffins. And I did a double-take, I gasped, and I was walking with Alan and Celia was in front of me.

"And I said, 'God, I don't know whether I should carry this coffin'.

"And I had a chat with the production team who checked on me all the time. You know, there was a psychologist there. But you're suddenly in the moment and I said, 'I'm not sure. I think it's a bit strange and a bit weird'."

The Celebrity Traitors concludes next Thursday on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
