Punjab singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh finally opened up about the threats he received after appearing on KBC 17 with Amitabh Bachchan. The entire fiasco started when Diljit touched Amitabh’s feet as a mark of respect during the show. Since then the promo has been making rounds on the internet. Following this SFJ chief Gurpatwant Singh Pannun issued a warning to the singer threatening to disrupt his upcoming concert in Australia on November 1. Finally Diljit addressed the matter. Taking to Instagram the singer wrote “Na Mai Kisey Film Di Promotion Lai Geya C Na Kisey Ganey Di Promotion Lai. Punjab Floods Lai Geya C..Ke National Level Te Gal Hove.. Te Loki Donate Kar Sakan. The message translates to: “I hadn’t gone there to promote any film or song. I went for the Punjab floods… so that the issue could be discussed at the national level and people could come forward to donate. Diljit Dosanjh’s appearance on Kaun Banega Crorepati 17 hosted by Amitabh Bachchan aimed to raise awareness and support for flood relief efforts in Punjab. In a statement given by the SFJ the group alleged that Amitabh has the blood of Sikhs on his hands as he played a role in inciting violence during the 1984 riots following former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi’s assassination. “By touching the feet of Bachchan the man whose words orchestrated genocide Diljit Dosanjh has insulted every victim every widow and every orphan of the 1984 Sikh genocide Pannun was quoted as saying. The group alleged that Amitabh Bachchan had once used the slogan “Khoon Ka Badla Khoon” (Blood for Blood) during the riots a claim they continue to make stating that it “unleashed violence in which over 30000 Sikh men women and children were killed across India. Meanwhile Diljit has not responded publicly to the threat.
