India is bursting with pride after the Women’s Cricket Team clinched their maiden ICC Women’s World Cup title on home soil.
The historic victory which happened on November 2, 2025, at Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium saw India defeat South Africa by 52 runs in a thrilling final.

Among the many celebrities who joined the celebration, actress Shraddha Kapoor’s heartfelt post stood out as she compared the victory to the Indian men’s team’s legendary 1983 World Cup win under Kapil Dev.
‘This is our 1983 moment’
Taking to social media, Shraddha wrote, “For decades, sirf parents se sunte the what 1983 felt like. Humein humara ye wala moment dene ke liye thank you girls. This is for generations.”
For the unversed, Shraddha’s reference to 1983 is the year Kapil Dev’s team stunned the world by defeating the mighty West Indies at Lord’s.
