In today’s digital world, our eyes are constantly exposed to the light of computer, mobile and TV screens. Because of this, problems like eye fatigue, irritation, dryness, headache and loss of vision have become common. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, eye care can also be done through everyday habits and yoga. Eyes are one of the most important senses of our body.

There are many asanas in yoga that help in strengthening the eye muscles, increasing blood circulation and relaxing the eyes. These asanas are not only helpful in maintaining eyesight but also provide relief from stress and fatigue.

Trataka: This is a yoga method that strengthens the focus and attention of the eyes. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, this exercise keeps the eye muscles active and makes it easier for the eyes to focus. When we look at a fixed point, the eyes become more stable and stronger. It is a kind of exercise not only for the eyes but also for the mind, as it improves the ability to concentrate.

Bhastrika Pranayama: Breathing yoga exercises like Bhastrika Pranayam are also beneficial for the eyes. With this pranayama, the amount of oxygen in the body increases and adequate blood reaches the veins and cells of the eyes. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, it helps in maintaining energy and freshness in the eyes. Apart from this, this practice also reduces mental stress, thereby providing relief from eye fatigue and headache.

Blinking eyes: Blinking your eyes rapidly and then closing them to relax is a simple but effective exercise. This process maintains moisture on the surface of the eyes and reduces problems like dry eyes. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, regular blinking of eyes increases the flexibility of the eye muscles and has a positive effect on the ability to see.

Covering eyes with palm: Relaxing the eyes with the warmth of the palms is also included in yoga. According to the Ministry of AYUSH, when slight warmth of the palms falls on the eyes, the nerves of the eyes get relaxed and blood circulation improves. This reduces eye fatigue and gradually improves vision.
