The launch of Arc Raiders has been explosive to say the least. Since its release on October 30, Embark Studios' new extraction shooter has attracted gamers in their hundreds of thousands, most recently surpassing 330,000 concurrent players on Steam. This puts it among the platform's most played games, trailing heavyweights Counter Strike 2, Dota 2, and the immensely popular Battlefield 6 RedSec - a huge feat for a game that isn't free-to-play.

Such demand means the game is encountering its fair share of problems recently. Issues include long matchmaking times, login queues, and server connection issues.

Reports of login queues and matchmaking chaos started to surface on the Arc Raiders Reddit and Discord channels over the weekend.

Many players were stuck in long queues, or were removed from matches without the possibility to rejoin.

Some even encountered issues like being matched with random teammates, despite having crossplay disabled and queuing solo.

Recognising the problem, Embark Studios implemented a login queue as a temporary fix which has led to longer wait times for players.

Replying to fans on social media, the developer said: "Hey Raiders! We are aware of an ongoing issue with our servers, and are currently investigating.

"We will keep you in the loop as we learn more. Enlist, resist. Still working on it, hang tight Raiders!"

A follow-up message adds: "The team is still hard at work on the server issues, voice chat and party system.

"We appreciate all of you letting us know about the issues you're running into and we thank you for bearing with us. We will keep you posted."

If you're encountering these problems on Arc Raiders, official advice is to bear with the development team and stay tuned for any updates on the official Discord, or on social media channels like the Arc Raiders X page.

There is currently no planned downtime, so it should just be a case of waiting patiently for your time to arrive.
