Devastating Incident in Jaipur's Loha Mandi Area
Jaipur, November 3, 2025: A horrific road accident in the bustling Loha Mandi area of Jaipur has left the city in shock. This afternoon, a truck driver lost control of his vehicle, speeding down Road Number 14 and causing chaos among pedestrians and motorists alike. Initial reports indicate that at least 100 individuals sustained injuries, with several fatalities confirmed. The injured have been rushed to nearby hospitals, where many are reported to be in critical condition.
The incident occurred around 1 PM when a fast-moving truck (RJ-14 GP 8724) coming from the direction of the Loha Mandi petrol station suddenly became uncontrollable. Eyewitnesses reported that the driver wreaked havoc for approximately 300 to 500 meters, colliding with over 17 vehicles in succession. Cars, motorcycles, auto-rickshaws, and pedestrians were all caught in the truck's path, resulting in a scene of devastation with mangled vehicles and blood strewn across the road. Some body parts were found scattered in various locations.
According to police, the truck was empty, and the driver was attempting to merge onto the highway from Road Number 14 in the Harmada area. The vehicle may have lost control due to brake failure or the driver being under the influence. Head Constable Ravindra stated, “The truck first struck a car, then continued without stopping, crushing motorcyclists and pedestrians. The death toll has exceeded 14, and the number of injured has surpassed 100.”
Upon arrival, the Harmada police quickly diverted traffic and established a green corridor to transport the injured to Kanwatia Hospital and other medical facilities. The Jaipur Police Commissioner confirmed that the bodies of the deceased have been sent to the mortuary for post-mortem examinations. Efforts are underway to remove the truck with a crane, which has caused significant traffic congestion in the VKI area. The driver has been detained, and blood samples are being tested.
This incident marks the second major road tragedy in Rajasthan in recent days, following a tempo accident in Jodhpur's Phalodi that claimed 15 lives just yesterday. Local residents are demanding immediate action from authorities regarding road safety. The Chief Minister's office has announced a compensation of 500,000 rupees for the families of the deceased and 50,000 rupees for the injured.
The series of road accidents in Jaipur shows no signs of abating. Experts emphasize the need for strict adherence to speed limits in busy areas and regular vehicle inspections. This tragic event raises serious questions about whether our roads are becoming death traps. We express our condolences for this unfortunate incident and wish for a swift recovery for the injured.
