EPFO: Job Exit Date Update

EPFO: Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) has made many online services available for subscribers. This includes registering your UAN, checking your PF balance and withdrawing part of the fund. Apart from this, now you can also update the date of leaving your job directly on the portal. This facility is especially important for those who want to update the date for a PF claim or before starting a new job.

How to update the date of leaving the job in EPFO?

First of all, you have to log in to the o the EPFO ​​website. Use your UAN and password in this. After logging in, go to the member interface. After this, go to the 'Manage' section and click on the 'Mark Exit' option. From here, you have to select your PF account.

After this, you will have to enter the date of leaving the job and select the reason for leaving the job. As soon as this information is filled, click on 'Request OTP'. OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar, which will have to be entered correctly. After that, you have to tick the checkbox and finally confirm by pressing the 'Update' button. After this process, your leaving date will be updated successfully.

EPFO Employee Enrollment Scheme 2025

Meanwhile, the government has announced the Employee Enrollment Scheme 2025. The scheme has come into effect from November 1, 2025 and aims to encourage employers to volunteer-eligible employees. This scheme was launched by Union Labour and Employment Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on the occasion of the 73rd Foundation Day of EPFO.

The minister said that EPFO ​​is not just a fund, but it is an example of the faith India's employees have in social security. Under the new scheme, if an employee's contribution has not been deducted earlier, the employer will not be required to deposit it. There will be a nominal penalty of only ₹100, which will facilitate enrollment for old and new employees.
