Honda has officially unveiled its first full-size electric motorcycle, the WN7, at the EICMA 2025 show in Milan, marking a significant step into the electric era for the legendary manufacturer. Developed under the concept “Be the Wind,” this naked street bike aims to deliver a smooth, quiet, and refined riding experience combined with the instant acceleration unique to electric powertrains
The WN7 showcases a slim, futuristic design language and introduces a new EV branding for Honda’s two-wheeled lineup. A key innovation is its “frameless chassis,” where the centrally-mounted aluminum battery case serves as a structural component, connecting the steering head directly to the rear pivot This design helps centralize mass and contributes to the bike’s agile handling. Suspension duties are handled by a 43mm Showa USD fork at the front and a monoshock paired with a stylish Pro-Arm single-sided swingarm at the rear.
At the core of the WN7 is a 9.3kWh fixed lithium-ion battery powering a newly developed compact, water-cooled motor. The motorcycle will be available in two versions to comply with European license categories: an 18kW model and an 11kW model. The higher-spec 18kW version delivers a peak power of 50kW (approximately 67bhp) and a substantial 100Nm of torque, comparable to a 1000cc internal combustion engine model. This power results in a top speed of 129 km/h (around 80 mph)
Honda claims a range of 140 km (87 miles) for the 18kW version, while the 11kW model can achieve up to 153 km. A major highlight is its charging versatility, as the WN7 supports both standard home charging and the CCS2 fast-charging standard used by electric cars. Using a DC fast charger, the battery can be replenished from 20% to 80% in just 30 minutes.
The electric bike is equipped with a comprehensive suite of modern electronics, all accessible through a 5-inch TFT display with Honda RoadSync connectivity Riders can choose from four riding modes: Standard, Sport, Rain, and Econ. The bike also features cornering ABS managed by an IMU, Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), and a multi-level adjustable regenerative braking system For low-speed maneuvers, a helpful forward and reverse “Walking Speed Mode” has been included.
