In view of Bihar elections, DK Shivakumar has appealed to Karnataka employers to provide 3 days paid leave to Bihari workers. He made this request so that workers can vote on November 6 and 11 and help the Grand Alliance win.

Bengaluru: The stage is set for assembly elections in Bihar. The main rival of the ruling NDA-JDU is the grand alliance led by Congress and RJD. Congress, which is dreaming of coming to power in this election, is trying every possible way. DK Shivakumar, who had also campaigned for Bihar elections in Bengaluru, had promised to build a community hall for Biharis at an event held at Kempapura near Hebbal.

Now DK Shivakumar has appealed to give three days paid leave to Biharis working in Karnataka to participate in the elections. He said, 'In view of the general elections of Bihar state to be held on 6 and 11 November 2025, I request all companies, businessmen, hotels and contractors working in Bengaluru and across Karnataka to provide at least three days of paid leave to the voters of Bihar to facilitate them in casting their votes and cooperate in actively participating in the democratic process.'

DK Shivakumar had also said the same thing in a program on 2 November. Talking about the five guarantee schemes implemented in Karnataka, he said, "The same people who criticized us are now adopting our schemes in other states. In this way, Karnataka has become a model for the country."

"Some people live here (Karnataka) but their vote is somewhere else, similarly some people live somewhere else but their vote is here," he said. Emphasizing that the right to vote should not be wasted in a democracy, he had said that he would look into giving three days of holiday to facilitate voting.

Bring Congress government in Bihar

Meanwhile, talking about the politics of Bihar, he said, "This is the last chapter of Nitish Kumar. We all should help the Grand Alliance (alliance in Bihar). I have come to ask this from you with folded hands." He said, "You said that I want a big post, that is not necessary. Bring government to Bihar, this will be your biggest favor."

He said there are around 1.40 lakh people from Bihar in the international city of Bengaluru, and a large number of them are in Bettarayanapura. “All those who vote here should support our party,” he appealed.
