A court in Kota, Rajasthan has issued a notice to film actor Salman Khan and Rajshree Pan Masala Company and sought their reply. Kota’s Bharatiya Janata Party leader and advocate Indra Mohan Honey had filed a complaint in the Consumer Court of Kota. He alleged that film actor Salman Khan is spreading misleading publicity by advertising Rajshree Pan Masala Company’s ‘Saffron with Cardamom’ pan masala. Rajasthan High Court advocate Indra Mohan Singh Honey has filed a complaint in the Kota District Consumer Protection Court and has demanded a ban on the advertisement of Pan Masala.
The claim of cardamom with saffron is wrong
Advocate Ripudaman Singh said that in the complaint filed on behalf of Inder Mohan Singh Honey, it has been said that misleading advertisements are being done by Rajshree Pan Masala Company and its brand ambassador film actor Salman Khan in the name of ‘Saffron with Cardamom’ and ‘Saffron with Pan Masala’.
It is also mentioned in the complaint that the price of saffron is around Rs 4 lakh per kg, hence it is not possible to get real saffron in a sachet of Rs 5. Due to this, the public is being confused and the youth are getting attracted towards eating pan masala and are falling prey to serious diseases like cancer.
Government should take back the national award given to Salman
The complainant has demanded from the government that the promotion of such health-harmful products should be immediately banned and such advertisements should be banned. Also, the government national awards received by film actor Salman Khan should be withdrawn because he is promoting misleading and health harmful products.

Taking cognizance of this matter, the court has issued a notice to Salman Khan and the company. Now both will have to present their side on 27th November. This matter has become a topic of discussion across the country regarding celebrity advertising and consumer rights.
