The Met Office has issued new weather alerts for rain across two UK regions. The yellow weather warnings are in place for Wales and South West England on Tuesday and into Wednesday morning. Rain is expected to become heavier, more widespread and persistent from Tuesday afternoon (November 4), before easing early on Wednesday (November 5).
The warning comes after a spell of recent wet weather, with the Met Office warning of up to 50mm of rain falling in some areas. The Met Office said: "Following recent bouts of wet weather, rain is expected to turn more extensive and heavy at times during Tuesday afternoon. 20-40mm of rain is expected widely, with some exposed south-facing hills of the Brecon Beacons and Dartmoor likely to see in excess of 50mm."
Forecasters say the rain could lead to spray and flooding on roads, affecting bus and train services and making journeys longer.
The Met Office is also urging people to check if their property is at risk of flooding, prepare emergency supplies, and keep up to date with local weather forecasts in case the warning changes.
