The ICC Women’s World Cup 2025 ended with a brilliant performance by the Indian team. In the final, India defeated South Africa by 52 runs and won the Women’s World Cup title. This historic victory created a wave of excitement and pride among women cricket fans across the country.

However, the performance of Pakistan women’s cricket team in this tournament was completely disappointing. Pakistani team lost 4 out of 7 matches and the remaining 3 matches were washed out due to rain. Due to this, Pakistan women’s team remained at the bottom 8th position in the points table.

Pakistan team did not win a single match in the tournament, but despite this they got a prize worth crores of rupees. According to ICC rules, all the teams participating in the World Cup receive honorarium for their participation. On this basis, Pakistan got Rs 4.70 crore just for being present in the tournament. This is equivalent to approximately Rs 14.95 crore in Pakistani currency.

According to experts, this rule has been implemented with the aim of encouraging all the teams and ensuring funding to prepare for the tournament. Although the prize money varies based on performance, Pakistan also won a good amount due to participation being the basis.

At the same time, the Indian team got a huge reward from both ICC and BCCI on the basis of their performance. ICC gave a prize money of Rs 39 crore to the winning team, while BCCI announced a prize money of Rs 51 crore for the women’s team. This amount includes team players, support staff and selectors.

Cricket experts believe that Pakistan women’s team’s performance in the tournament was poor, but getting the participation money will provide financial help to the young players of the team for training and resources in the coming years. This money can be used to improve players’ training, fitness and match strategy.

Pakistan’s team included many young and rising stars, who got experience and exposure in big tournaments. Based on this experience, the performance of Pakistan women’s team is expected to improve in future.

Apart from India, teams like South Africa, England, Australia, New Zealand and Pakistan participated in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. Many exciting matches were seen during the tournament, but Pakistan team kept losing continuously and was out of the tournament.

There was a discussion among fans and media whether it is appropriate for Pakistan to get such a big reward. However, under ICC rules, each team’s share is fixed and it is declared in advance for any team. This makes it clear that cricket not only provides performance but also provides financial help for participation and promotion of the game.
