In such a situation, based on Udaya Tithi, the festival of Kartik Purnima is on Wednesday 05 November.

According to the Hindu calendar, the festival of Dev Diwali is celebrated 15 days after Diwali. Every year, on the full moon day of Kartik month, the festival of Dev Diwali will be celebrated by lighting thousands of lamps, especially on the ghats of Varanasi. According to religious beliefs, Kartik Purnima is known as Tripurari Purnima. On this day, Lord Shiva had killed the demon named Tripurasura. Lord Shiva was especially worshiped among all the gods and goddesses in the joy of killing Tripurasura by the hands of Lord Shiva. On this day, all the gods came from heaven to Kashi, the city of Lord Shiva, and celebrated Dev Diwali. That’s why this tradition has continued. Apart from this, after 15 days of Diwali, the ghats of Banaras are decorated with the lighting of lamps. There is also a belief that by donating a lamp in Kashi on this day, ancestors get salvation.

The date of Kartik Purnima has special significance in Hindu religion. According to religious beliefs, on the day of Kartik Purnima, Lord Vishnu, the controller of creation, took the incarnation of Matsya. Among all the 10 incarnations of Lord Vishnu, the first incarnation is considered to be Matsya incarnation. There is a religious belief that Lord Vishnu had taken the form of a fish on the day of Kartik Purnima to protect the Vedas during the Holocaust. On the other hand, there is also a religious belief that in the month of Kartik, Lord Vishnu resides in the water in the form of a fish and on the full moon date of the month of Kartik, he leaves his fish incarnation and goes back to Vaikuntha Dham.

Kartik Purnima is also to the incarnation of Lord Brahma. According to mythological belief, on this day the creator Lord Brahma was incarnated in the holy lake of Pushkar. On the day of Kartik Purnima, Lord Brahma used his power to create living beings, earth and nature, thereby infusing life in the universe.
