WhatsApp down: Huge outage as thousands of users report issues

WhatsApp has suffered a major outage, with thousands of users of the popular messaging app reporting various issues. The Downdetector website is showing reports of WhatsApp outages skyrocketing over the past couple of hours.
Mst Tomi wrote: "WhatsApp web is not working - no chats shwoing up." ShazzaUK said: "WhatsApp is working on my phone, but showing zero re chats and status etc on my PC." Ray Tsang added: "WhatsApp web sucks with many strange bugs, which have never been fixed."
As of May 2025, WhatsApp had 3 billion monthly active users, making it the most used messenger app in the world.
