New Delhi: Google Maps is one of the most popular navigation apps in the world today, used by more than 2 billion people every month. This app helps people to easily find their way on the roads and reach their destination by avoiding traffic. Sometimes this app also gives wrong location, due to which accidents also happen. Many such news keep coming to us. However, Google constantly keeps adding new features to improve its maps and recently the company has announced its new feature on social media platform X, which will make the driving experience easier.
AI-powered live lane guidance feature launched
Let us tell you that Google is now launching AI-powered live lane guidance feature. This feature will work with built-in Google system in cars. Its specialty is that now for the first time Google Maps will be able to see the road the way a human driver sees it. It will not only understand the condition of the vehicles on the road, but will also tell in which lane it is better to drive. This feature will provide accurate and customized navigation assistance to drivers in real-time. Suppose you are in the leftmost lane of the road, but going ahead you have to pass from the right side. In such a situation, Live Lane Guidance will automatically recognize your current situation and tell you in time through voice and visual signals which lane is best to go. This will help the driver to change lanes safely without disrupting the traffic and will also reduce the chances of accidents.
Google released the video
Google shared a GIF video from its @NewsFromGoogle account explaining how this feature will work. It was shown that the AI system present in the vehicle analyzes the lane markings, traffic signs and road signs. Also, with the help of the car’s front-facing camera, it detects road conditions and provides real-time data to Google Maps. All this information is instantly integrated with Google’s powerful navigation system, making driving even easier and smarter.
where is the launch taking place
Initially this feature is being launched in Polestar 4s vehicles in America and soon it will be launched in Sweden also. At present there is no official information about the arrival of this feature in India. However, if it is implemented in India then it can prove to be very beneficial for driving on highways and expressways. Only time will tell how effective it will be in the complex traffic situation of cities.
