UPW Retained Players List: The UP Warriorz is set to make some decisions and changes in their squad ahead of the WPL 2026 season.

Under the captaincy of Deepti Sharma, the side finished at the bottom of the points table, scoring only 3 wins out of 8 matches.

In fact, the UP Warriorz have never managed to finish in the top two since the league’s inception, with their best season coming in the inaugural edition of the tournament.

With the mega auction is set to be held ahead of the 2026 season, the BCCI has revealed rules and guidelines for the WPL 2026 auction, the purse value for the franchises and the road map for the deadline for player retention submissions, franchises to provide player lists for the auction pool, the last date for player registrations, and the official auction player list to be released by the BCCI.

BCCI has set November 05 as the deadline for the WPL franchise to name their retentions. However, the franchise doesn’t need to retain the maximum number of players.

According to the WPL 2026 auction rules, all five franchises will have to announce the list of retained and released players. With a total budget of INR 15 crore, the teams will aim to reshuffle their squads and tactics during the WPL 2026 auction.

As per reports, the season is likely to begin on January 06 or 08, 2026, as the tournament is set to be preponded due to India co-hosting the Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 with Sri Lanka in February-March.

UPW Retained Players List

The UP Warriorz finished at the bottom of the points table in the Women’s Premier League (WPL 2025) with three wins and five losses. However, they had one of the record-breaking totals in WPL history.

Retaining the maximum number of players will cost the franchise INR 9.25 crore out of the INR 15 crore purse value. A maximum of 3 capped Indian players, 2 overseas and 2 uncapped players can be retained.
