Rishabh Pant back in action as India announce Shubman Gill-led Test squad for South Africa Series

India’s top wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has been named in the 15-player Test squad for the two-match series against South Africa announced by the BCCI with Shubman Gill set to lead the team. The two-match Test series will begin on November 14 in Kolkata. The Men’s Senior Selection Committee has picked India’s squad for the upcoming two-match First Bank Test series against South Africa the BCCI said in a statement. The 28-year-old wicketkeeper-batter showed great form in the first India A vs South Africa A match leading the team as captain and helping them secure a win. Pant had gotten injured during the Manchester Test when Chris Woakes’ delivery hit his foot. He recovered at the BCCI Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru. Pant will return as Shubman Gill’s deputy while Dhruv Jurel who performed well in the West Indies series will be the second-choice wicketkeeper. Axar Patel also returns to the Test squad replacing Prasidh Krishna.
