WhatsApp's new feature: If you repeatedly receive the "Storage Full" notification from WhatsApp, there's some relief. WhatsApp has launched a new and very useful feature for its users, allowing you to manage storage directly from the chat window. This means you no longer need to go into Settings and open the "Manage Storage" section to delete large files or videos.

WhatsApp shares new feature
According to tech website WABetaInfo, WhatsApp's new In-Chat Storage Management Shortcut was first rolled out on Android (version 2.25.31.13 Beta) and has now also arrived on iOS Beta (25.31.10.70). This feature is currently available to select users on the TestFlight app and will be released to everyone in the coming weeks.

How will the new storage feature work?
Now, whenever you open a chat's Chat Info screen, a new option will appear: "Manage Storage." Clicking on it will show you all the media files (photos, videos, and documents) shared in that chat in one place. You can sort them by size, date, or type (Newest, Oldest, Largest). This will help you identify which files are taking up the most space.

Benefits of Bulk Deletion and Starred Media
The new feature now offers users the option of bulk deletion. This allows them to select multiple files at once and delete them quickly. If an important photo or video is missing, you can mark it as Starred Media to prevent it from being accidentally deleted. This feature makes WhatsApp smarter and more user-friendly, as you no longer have to go into individual chats to delete files.

Why did WhatsApp introduce this feature?
Users often don't check the storage in WhatsApp settings, which is why media files take up a significant portion of their phone's memory.

This new shortcut will now be directly in the Chat Info screen. This means that when you open a chat, you'll be able to see how much space it's taking up and what can be deleted. This will allow WhatsApp users to monitor and clean up their phone's space in real time.

iPhone users will also benefit.
WhatsApp first released this feature for Android users and has now rolled it out to iOS beta testers. This update is currently available to a limited number of users, but will soon be released as a stable update for everyone. The interface in the beta version is similar to WhatsApp's existing "Manage Storage" feature, except that it's now located in a more accessible location—inside the chat screen.
