Aadhaar Update Rules: If your mobile number linked to Aadhaar has been disabled, don't worry. You can update the new number in a few simple steps and resume using all services.

Aadhaar Update Rules: Aadhaar has now become the most important document of our identity. Whether it's a bank, mobile, gas connection, or government schemes, Aadhaar linking is essential everywhere. However, sometimes the mobile number linked to Aadhaar is disabled, or you no longer have it.

In such a situation, many Aadhaar-related services stop working because the OTP is sent to that number. If this has happened to you, there's no need to worry. You can easily link a new mobile number to Aadhaar. Let's explain how you can update your mobile number in Aadhaar.

How to Update a New Mobile Number in Aadhaar

If your old mobile number has been disabled and you want to link a new one, this cannot be done online. You'll need to visit your nearest Aadhaar center. To do this, first visit the UIDAI website, uidai.gov.in, and enter your area's PIN code in the Locate Enrolment Center section. This will provide information about the nearest Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

Fill out the Aadhaar update form and enter your new mobile number. You'll need to provide biometric verification along with the form to confirm that you're the one making the change. After this process is complete, you'll receive an update receipt containing your URN number. This is how you can track the status of your updated number.

This is the fee you'll need to pay.

Updating your new mobile number doesn't take long. Usually, the new number is linked to Aadhaar within 7 to 10 days. After this, you can easily access OTP verification and other online services again. The fee for this was previously ₹50, but now it's ₹75. If you wish, you can also update additional information, such as your address or email address. Once the new number is linked, it can be verified from the UIDAI website or the mAadhaar app.
