A tragic incident took place in Jhansi, where a 30-year-old LIC officer died while playing cricket. He was playing cricket with his friends and while bowling suddenly stopped to drink water. Within seconds of drinking the water, he started vomiting and fell on the ground.
Friends immediately called an ambulance and took him to the hospital, but after examination, doctors declared Ravindra Kumar Ahirwar dead. This incident took place at GIC ground (Jhansi cricket ground) located in Siddheshwar area of Sipri Bazar police station area. Police have sent the body for postmortem, so that the cause of death can be clarified.
I got the job two years ago
The deceased Ravindra Kumar Ahirwar was a resident of Nalganj Sipri Bazar. Father Swami Prasad Ahirwar is a mason and there are three sons in the family. Ravindra was second. Elder brother Vikas works in Maruti Company in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, while younger brother Arvind is preparing for competitive exams.
According to the family, Ravindra was completely healthy and no problem was found in the health checkup done three months ago. Just two years ago, he was appointed as Development Officer in Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC). Family members told that he was very fond of sports. There was a holiday in the office on Wednesday due to Kartik Purnima, so he reached GIC Ground in the morning to play cricket with friends.

The third over of the match was going on. While bowling he felt thirsty and drank water. After a few moments, vomiting started and Ravindra fell unconscious. Fellow players immediately handled him and called 108 ambulance. On reaching the medical college, doctors declared him dead. At present, the police have registered the case and started waiting for the postmortem report. In the preliminary investigation, there is a possibility that the death may have occurred due to heart attack or (sudden cardiac arrest while playing).
Question on sudden death of healthy person
This matter is shocking for the local people and family members. The family says that Ravindra was completely healthy and neither had any heart disease nor any chronic problem. Doctors say that the risk of sudden heart attack (sudden cardiac death) has now increased rapidly among the youth, especially during extreme stress or exercise. The exact reason will become clear only from the postmortem report.

LIC Office Co-workers and neighbors are in grief. According to everyone, Ravindra was of cheerful and helpful nature. There were talks of marriage going on in the family and the relationship was going to be finalized soon. There is mourning in the house, parents are fainting again and again. Friends told that “Ravindra had a dream to one day form his own cricket team in Jhansi.” Now that same ground became his last memory.
