The confrontation occurred when Itsaragrisil questioned several contestants for refusing to take promotional photos with a sponsor. He then called out Bosch specifically, accusing her of not sharing enough posts about Thailand and suggesting that her national director had instructed her not to.

Bosch attempted to explain herself, but Itsaragrisil interrupted, ordering her to sit down and summoning security. The tense scene unsettled many contestants, some stood up and walked out. “If anyone wants to continue the contest, sit down,” Itsaragrisil said.

Bosch left the room in tears and was comforted by Miss Iraq. She later told reporters that Itsaragrisil had made offensive remarks and ordered her to remain silent without explanation.

“[…] the world needs to see this because we are empowered women, and this is a platform for our voice. And no one can shut our voice,” she said. She added that she loves Thailand and denied having any personal conflict with the organizers.

Reigning Miss Universe Victoria Theilvig of Denmark joined the walkout with several other contestants and said she could not accept Itsaragrisil’s disrespectful attitude toward Miss Mexico.

On her Instagram Story, Theilvig expressed support for Bosch, writing: “Standing up for yourself is not always easy, but it is one of the most important acts of self-respect and strength you can show. It means knowing your worth, setting boundaries, and not allowing anyone or anything to undermine your voice or your value.”

The Miss Universe Organization (MUO) said it had worked with the production team to defuse the situation.

It later wrote in a statement on Instagram, “A high-level delegation, led by CEO Mario Bucaro, is traveling to Thailand to strengthen collaboration with the host country, MGI, and relevant authorities. This mission aims to coordinate efforts, ensure a secure and professional environment for all delegates, and reaffirm MUO’s commitment to transparency, respect, and unity.”

Miss Mexico rejoined the other contestants for a cruise party and was warmly welcomed after the incident. The sash ceremony of the Miss Universe 2025 competition took place later that night in Thailand.
