Poonch, 6 November H.S.. In a major action against the proceeds of crime earned through online fraud, Surankote Police Station has seized property worth about Rs 8.5 lakh under Section 107 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS).
During the investigation of FIR No. 71/2025 u/s 319(2)/318(4)/336(3)/340(2)/3(5) BNS and 66(C)/66(D) IT Act, it was revealed that a Maruti Suzuki Brezza car (Registration No. JK02CQ-2851) owned by accused Sajid Khan son of Mohammad Sadiq r/o Drogain, The money was purchased by Tehsil Surankote from the proceeds of crime generated through fraudulent activities involving fraud and impersonation using the Telegram application and Dream 11 platform.
As per the instructions of the competent authority and legal provisions, the said vehicle has been attached and seized under Section 107 BNSS to prevent its alienation, transfer or disposal. An attachment notice has also been pasted on the vehicle cautioning the general public that no person shall purchase, lease or create any third party interest in the said property until further orders.
The statement said that Poonch District Police, under the overall supervision of SSP Poonch Shafqat Hussain, JKPS, is committed to identification, prevention and confiscation of properties acquired illegally as per law.
