Patna(EMS). Voting is underway for the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections 2025. Voting will be held on 121 seats in 18 districts till 6 pm. Till 9 am, 13.13 percent voting took place. Meanwhile, minor clashes at many booths and complaints of EVM malfunction have been received from about 10 districts of the state. Four BJP workers who were distributing slips in Bihar Sharif have been detained. People raised slogans of vote thief when EVM broke down in booth number 334-335 of Lalganj, Vaishali. There was a huge commotion at the booth. Voting has not started at booth number 153 of Darbhanga due to EVM malfunction. In Raghopur too, voting had to be stopped due to EVM malfunction. Of today’s 121 seats, there is a direct contest on 104 seats, while there is a triangular fight on 17 seats. Elections are being held on 243 seats in Bihar in two phases. The results will come on 14th November.

PM Modi’s appeal
Before voting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that today is the first phase of the celebration of democracy in Bihar. I urge all the voters of this round of assembly elections to vote with full enthusiasm. Lalu family voted

Lalu family cast their vote at the Veterinary College booth in Patna. Lalu, Rabri, Tejashwi and his wife Rajshree, sister Misa Bharti voted. During this, Rabri Devi said, both my sons have my blessings. Both Tej Pratap and Tejashwi are contesting the elections on their own strength.

Samrat Chaudhary, Lalan Singh voted
Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate from Tarapur Assembly constituency Samrat Chaudhary cast his vote in the first phase of Bihar Assembly elections. Union Minister Lalan Singh cast his vote in booth number 58 of Chakaram Primary School, Patna. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and BJP candidate from Lakhisarai seat Vijay Sinha cast his vote. During this, he hit back at the statement to Army by Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and said, by making statement on Army, he has embarrassed himself. They have no knowledge. They learn poverty in the house of Kalavati…Modi ji is born in the same class.

There was boycott at some places, controversy at some places and EVMs malfunctioning at many places.
Vote boycott at 3 booths in Muzaffarpur: There has been vote boycott at 3 booths in Gaighat Legislative Assembly. Voters at booth numbers 161, 162 and 170 have boycotted the vote regarding bridge and road construction. Voting has been disrupted due to EVM malfunction in booth number 196 of Danapur. Voting started after half an hour. EVM broke down in booth number 316 of Bakhtiyarpur, due to which long queues are being seen in the polling centre. Voting was stopped due to EVM malfunction at a booth in Raghopur. Police have detained 4 BJP workers during voting in Biharsharif. Police say that these people were distributing slips near booth numbers 226 to 232 in Ward 16.

There are about ten seats in the state on which everyone’s eyes are on, in which the credibility of many big faces including Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap Yadav, Samrat Chaudhary, Vijay Kumar Sinha, Anant Singh is at stake. In Simri Bakhtiyarpur, Mahishi, Tarapur (Munger district) and Jamalpur, due to security reasons, the voting time was limited to 5 pm.

Presiding Officer’s health deteriorated
The health of the presiding officer posted at booth number 254 located in Hajipur village of Fatuha assembly has deteriorated. He has been admitted to the hospital.
