Manchester United will be on high alert following shock reports that Barcelona boss Hansi Flick may depart the club at the end of the campaign. United academy product Marcus Rashford, currently on loan with the Spanish heavyweights, is tipped to make his move to the Nou Camp permanent after some stellar performances since his transfer to Spain earlier this season.

Barcelona's German head coach is a huge admirer of the England ace, who has netted an impressive six goals and provided seven assists in 15 matches across all competitions this season. The 28-year-old appears to be rediscovering his top form after falling out of favour under United manager Ruben Amorim, having spent the latter half of last season on loan at Aston Villa.

Earlier this week, Spanish outlet ABC claimed that Flick had told his coaching staff he plans to step down from Barcelona due to reportedly growing 'tired' of the atmosphere among the players, pointing to issues in the dressing room.

However,Sky Germanyhave dismissed these claims, which will come as a significant boost for Rashford and his aspirations of sealing a permanent switch to Barcelona.

The recent report insists Flick is thoroughly content at the Catalan club and is contracted until the summer of 2027, highlighting his ambitious plans for the club's future.

Earlier this season, Rashford opened up about the impact Flick has had on his game during a chat with TNT Sport, saying: "He's very important. I feel the confidence he's given me.

"I knew he was a top manager before I arrived here, but to work with him is a pleasure. I hope the good relationship will continue for the rest of the season."

Flick's admiration for Rashford is evident, as he showered praise on the striker after United's 3-1 victory over Elche in La Liga.

"One or two more goals would have been good for him," he said. "I'm happy with him; I know he can play at this level and he's shown it. He's an important player."

Rashford wasn't quite able to continue his impressive form for Barca in their recent 3-3 draw with Belgian side Club Brugge in the Champions League.

So far this season, the England international has four goals and two assists in Europe's elite competition, but drew a blank in Belgium on Wednesday night.

Barcelona have an option to sign Rashford at the end of the season and make the England international's move to Catalonia permanent, with United setting out their stance by including the clause in the deal.
