MENSXP | November 7, 2025 2:39 AM CST

The Men in Blue turned things around after going 1-0 down in the T20I series vs Australia. Suryakumar Yadav’s Team India now leads 2-1 with one game left to play. That means India continue their unbeaten streak in T20I series on Australian soil. India have never lost a T20I bilateral series and they will not lose this one either. They could win it in Brisbane on November 8 and it will be their third if they do.

India Won the 4th T20I Pretty Easily vs Australia

India won by 48 runs as Australia folded for 119 while chasing a target of 168. The hosts’ innings ended with 10 balls left. The pick of the bowlers for India was none other than Washington Sundar who took 3/3 in 1.2 overs. It was a commanding performance by the visitors.

Earlier, India made 167/8 after being put into bat by Mitchell Marsh. Shubman Gill top-scored with 46. It proved to be more than enough as the Aussies faltered from 67/1 as they lost 9/52. The first game of the series was rained off and Australia won the second by four wickets before India drew level with a five-wicket win. Now the T20 World Cup champions have a lead.

Suryakumar Yadav About to Join a Special Club

This victory also means that Suryakumar Yadav is on the cusp of joining MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli in a special club. He could become the third Indian captain to win a T20I series Down Under. Dhoni’s side whitewashed Australia 3-0 in 2016 while Kohli’s team clinched it 2-1 in 2020. Of course, Kohli remains the only Indian skipper to win a series in all three formats. Dhoni won a tri-series in 2008 while Gavaskar won a multi-nation tournament in 1985.

India’s Brilliant T20I Form Since Becoming World Champions

Since winning the T20 World Cup in 2024, India have played 30 games and won 25, lost four while one was rained off. In 2025 alone, India have played 16 T20Is out of which they have won 13, lost two and one has been a no-result. With the 2026 T20 World Cup just three months away, India are peaking at the right time.

India Aim for T20I Series Victory vs Australia in Brisbane

For Australia, the chance to beat India in a T20I series at home is out of the window. But they can at least try to draw the series and make it 2-2. A drawn series on home soil is better than a lost one. The Brisbane T20I will see India push for the series victory while the Aussies look to for the much-needed victory. It remains to be seen if Suryakumar’s men are standing tall or Marsh’s team comes out on top.
