News India Live, Digital Desk: Till now, whenever we used to make UPI payment by scanning QR code at any shop, the money was directly deducted from our bank account. But now times are changing! Now you can also link your credit card with UPI and make payments easily even if you do not have a debit card or cash in your pocket. This facility is no less than a boon for those who want to take advantage of credit card reward points and facilities like ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and NPCI have jointly launched this great facility. So, let us know how you can link your credit card with UPI in just 5 easy steps. Before starting, know this: Currently, this facility is available only on RuPay credit cards. If you have a Visa or Mastercard credit card, then you will not be able to link it. Most of the big banks like HDFC, ICICI, Axis, SBI, Punjab National Bank are offering this facility on RuPay credit cards. Your mobile number must be linked to both your credit card and bank account. 5 easy steps to link credit card with UPIStep 1: Open your UPI appFirst of all, open your favorite UPI app in your smartphone like GPay, PhonePe, Paytm or Open BHIM. Step 2: Find the option of ‘Add Credit Card’. Go to Payment Settings by clicking on your profile picture in the app. Here you will see a new option like ‘Link Bank Account’ as well as “Link RuPay Credit Card” or “Add Credit Card”. Click on it. Step 3: Select and verify your credit card. Now you will see the list of all those banks which are providing this facility. Select the bank to which your RuPay credit card belongs. After this, the app will automatically verify your card details through your registered mobile number. Step 4: Set your UPI PIN (the most important step) This step is a little different. Just like you created a UPI PIN for your bank account, you will also have to create a new UPI PIN for your credit card. For this, you will have to enter the last 6 digits of your credit card and the expiry date of the card. After this, an OTP will come on your registered mobile number. After entering the OTP, you can set a 4 or 6 digit UPI PIN of your choice. Step 5: Now ready for payment! Congratulations! Your credit card is now linked to UPI. Now whenever you scan the QR code at any shop, you will see the option of your bank accounts as well as your credit card to make payment. Simply choose a credit card, enter your UPI PIN, and your payment will be made! Note: UPI payments through credit cards can only be made to a merchant. You cannot send money to a friend or family member (Peer-to-Peer).
