World Cup champion Kranti Goud expressed immense pride after her meeting with Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav. She celebrated India's achievement as both the host and champion of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025. In her remarks to the press, the fast bowler stated, "I feel a deep sense of pride today and hope that all residents of Madhya Pradesh share this feeling, as the ICC World Cup took place in India and we emerged as champions. I am grateful to CM Mohan Yadav for his call and recognition."
Chief Minister Honors Kranti Goud
On Friday, CM Mohan Yadav honored Indian cricketer Kranti Goud, who is from Chhatarpur district, along with her family at his residence in Bhopal. This celebration followed her return to the state after winning the ICC Women's World Cup 2025. During the event, the Chief Minister engaged with Goud about her experiences in sports and other relevant topics.
In a post on social media, CM Yadav remarked, "Today, I had the honor of recognizing Kranti Goud, a proud member of the ICC Women's World Cup 2025 winning team, along with her parents at my residence in Bhopal. I also had a fruitful discussion with talented athletes from our state on various subjects, including sports."
He further extended his best wishes to Goud, stating, "May you continue to bring pride to our state, and may all your aspirations come true."
CM Announces Generous Reward
Earlier, CM Yadav declared a reward of Rs 1 Crore for Kranti Goud in recognition of her contributions to the Indian team's success. He stated, "The daughters of our nation have excelled in cricket. I want to congratulate everyone... MP's daughter, Kranti Goud, is part of this team. I extend my congratulations to her, and the state government will award her Rs 1 Crore for her efforts in the team’s victory."
India's Historic World Cup Win
At the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai, India successfully defended a target of 299 runs to defeat South Africa, securing their first Women's World Cup trophy with a 52-run victory on November 2. Although Kranti did not take any wickets in the final, her contributions throughout the tournament were significant.
The 22-year-old fast bowler led India's pace attack, claiming nine wickets across eight matches at an average of 40.11, finishing 12th on the wicket-taking leaderboard.
