A fierce encounter took place between the police force and Naxalites during the anti-Naxal operation being conducted in Kulapu Buru, Saranda forest area under Jaraikela police station of West Singhbhum district of Jharkhand. The operation was conducted by a joint team of police and 209 Cobra battalion. In the search operation after the encounter, a huge quantity of arms, ammunition, explosive material, IED and Naxalite literature have been recovered from the spot.

According to the information received from the police, after this operation, 2 SLR rifles, one 303 rifle, 37 AK-47 live cartridges, 78 SLR live cartridges, 130 .303 live cartridges were recovered from the spot. Apart from this, one 7.62 MM magazine, 2 SLR magazines, and one .303 magazine were also seized.

Apart from this, 6 gelatin packets were found among the explosive material, each of which weighed 2.78 kg and the total weight was 16.68 kg. Police also recovered five radio sets, 11 FM radios, two interceptors, two laptops (one Asus and one Lenovo) and 24 syringes. Giving information about the case, officials said that Jharkhand Police is continuing the search operation in this area, so that the Naxalites can be completely eliminated and peace can be restored in the area.
