Strictly Come Dancing star Dianne Buswell has admitted that she has been left frustrated after having to make one major change at home ahead of welcoming her first child with YouTuber Joe Sugg. Having been crowned winner of Strictly last year when she helped Chris McCausland make history as the first visually impaired contestant to win the show, she was forced to withdraw from the competition this time around after her partner, Stefan Dennis, suffered a calf injury, ruling him out in week four of the BBC show.

Away from her recent disappointment on this year's show, she recently opened up to Chris McCausland on their Winning Isn't Everything podcast, admitting that she was left "devastated" after her boyfriend threw away one treasured item from their home. Chatting to Chris about how the situation unfolded, she said: "Joe got rid of my upside down hanger, Joe got rid of it! He said he didn't like it in the house. So I don't mention the upside down hanger anymore."

While admitting that she was "devastated" by the loss of the item, the dancer was also able to laugh at the situation, as she said: "I'm just fuming about it. It was just up and gone one day, and I went down to hang upside down and I couldn't, I was devastated."

She joked that it might be for the best that the exercise equipment has been thrown away amid the impending birth of her first child, telling Chris: "Knowing me, I'd get the child and I'd be like, 'just have a go at that. Just see what that does to you. Does that stop you crying?'"

The fitness-conscious dancer, was likely performing inverted hang exercises on the workout device before it was thrown away, which involves hanging upside down from a bar or rings. The exercise can assist in building full-body tension, shoulder stability, and grip strength.

It was back in September that Dianne and Joe took to Instagram to reveal that they were expecting their first child together. In a video that showed the pair painting a family photo, they simply captioned the post: "Our little baby boy, we cannot wait to meet you."

It comes after Joe and Dianne became part of a long line of Strictly Come Dancing stars to find love on the show.

Meeting each other for the first time in series 16 of Strictly in 2018, the pair danced all the way to the final before finishing in second place. However, it wasn't until after their time on the show had come to an end that they made their relationship official.

In the years since the couple competed together on the show, Dianne has gone on to see mixed success in the competition before getting her hands on the Glitterball trophy.

In 2019 she finished in 13th place with Dev Griffin, while a year later, she improved with a ninth place finish with Max George. However, recent years have seen greater success for the Australian star, including a second place finish with Bobby Brazier in 2023, before going on to win the show last year with comedian Chris.

Strictly Come Dancing is set to return this evening (November 8) at 6.25pm on BBC One.
