Patna. The first phase of voting has been successfully completed in 121 assembly constituencies of 18 districts of Bihar. State Election Commission has recorded 65.08 percent final voting percentage in this election. It is noteworthy that the average voting percentage of the state in Bihar Assembly elections 2020 was 57.29 and in Lok Sabha elections 2024 it was 56.28.
In such a situation, an increase in voting percentage has been recorded compared to the last two elections.
In Bihar Assembly elections 2020 it was 57.29 percent while in 2025 it increased to 65.08 percent. In this situation, an increase of 7.79 percent has been recorded.
Whereas in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, the percentage of votes was 56.28 percent, due to which an increase of 8.8 percent has been recorded.
The Election Commission said that the process of scrutiny in all the assembly constituencies falling under the first phase has been successfully completed as per the rules in the presence of observers appointed by the Election Commission of India. A total of 83 candidates and 385 election agents participated in Scutni in all the districts. In this way the total number remained 468. No need for re-polling has been found in any polling station and no adverse report has been received in this regard.
All the EVMs (including Ballot Unit, Control Unit and VVPAT) used in voting have been duly sealed and secured in the strong rooms of the respective assembly constituencies with a three-tier security arrangement. Apart from this, provisions like CCTV etc. have been ensured.
Other EVMs and VVPATs which were found defective during the mock poll and remained safe have been kept under prescribed security arrangements in a strongly marked strong room as per the instructions of the Commission.
It is noteworthy that the counting of votes is scheduled for November 14, 2025. In the first phase, voting was peaceful and orderly at all the polling stations.
