In an industry characterized by demanding and unpredictable schedules, the cast of Delhi Crime 3, featuring Shefali Shah, Rasika Dugal, and Huma Qureshi, has voiced their desire for a workplace that is 'not exploitative' and allows for creative flexibility when necessary.
Shefali Shah, who boasts a three-decade-long career in film, shared that she has reached a point where she can assert, 'I want to go home.' While she enjoys her time on set, the fatigue can be overwhelming. 'After all these years, I can confidently say, “I need to go home.” We are reasonable actors; we understand the need to complete our work. However, that shouldn't be the norm,' remarked Shah, who reprises her role as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi in the third season of the acclaimed series.
The conversation surrounding working hours in the film industry gained traction after Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone withdrew from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Spirit, citing disagreements with the production team over her request to limit her daily working hours to eight.
Rasika Dugal, portraying cop Neeti Singh in Delhi Crime, emphasized the necessity for clear regulations regarding working hours on set.
Fans can catch Delhi Crime 3 streaming on Netflix starting November 13.
