The kidneys work very hard for our body. They filter the blood and remove waste products and toxins. When the kidneys stop functioning properly, symptoms appear not only in the hands and feet, but also in the eyes. Sometimes these symptoms are so common that people ignore them as just fatigue or lack of sleep, which is quite dangerous. Ignoring these can cause complete kidney damage. Therefore, here we are giving you information about the visible symptoms of kidney failure.

1. Swelling around the eyes
Swelling under the eyes or on the upper eyelids is the most common and important sign of kidney failure. When your kidneys are healthy, they secrete proteins (especially albumin) into the blood. However, when the kidneys malfunction, this protein is excreted through urine. This lack of protein in the blood causes fluid to leak out of the blood vessels and accumulate in the tissues. Since the skin around the eyes is very thin and sensitive, swelling often appears here first. If you see these symptoms, consult a doctor immediately.

2. Redness and itching
If there is constant itching and redness in your eyes, it can also be a sign of kidney problem. Due to kidney failure, the level of toxins and urea increases in the blood. This increased urea accumulates throughout the body, including the eyes, causing severe itching, called uremic pruritus.

3. Blurry vision
If your vision suddenly becomes blurry, it may be due to high blood pressure, which is linked to kidney damage. Kidney disease often causes or worsens high blood pressure. High blood pressure damages the delicate blood vessels in the back of the eye, which can lead to retinopathy.

4. Bleeding from the eye
Eye bleeding is a serious sign of kidney disease and requires immediate medical attention. High blood pressure can cause small blood vessels in the eyes to burst due to kidney failure. This may cause red spots or bleeding in the white part of the eye.
