Mother’s milk is the safest and essential source of nutrition for newborns and infants up to 6 months of age.

How can it be given after 1 year:

Be careful to keep the quantity small – start with one-half teaspoon and gradually increase the quantity.

Give only fresh and clean coconut water, avoid packaged or sugar-laden coconut water.

Do not give on empty stomach – It is safe to give small amounts of coconut water to children with or after food.

Watch for signs of allergy – stop giving immediately if diarrhea, flatulence or skin rash occurs.

Doctors advise:

Coconut water is not a food or medicine for children younger than 1 year. Give it only in moderate quantities and when needed.

Contact a doctor immediately if children have serious symptoms of dehydration such as fever, persistent vomiting or weak mood.

Do not give coconut water as the main drink even in children older than 1 year, but include it in balanced quantities with water and milk.
