New Aadhaar App Features: Now you won't need to carry your paper Aadhaar card everywhere, as UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has launched a new Aadhaar app that runs on smartphones. Nearly 1.4 billion people in the country use Aadhaar, and this app offers a much easier and safer way for everyone.

This app is completely free and can be downloaded from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store. Now you can easily keep your digital Aadhaar on your phone and show it whenever needed.

Facial Recognition Feature
According to a Times of India report, the app uses facial recognition technology. You can also set a biometric lock to prevent anyone from seeing your data. Sharing is done via QR code, which strengthens privacy. With this app, you can add Aadhaar cards for up to five family members to a single phone, but everyone must have the same registered mobile number. This feature is very useful for family members, eliminating the need to have separate phones.

What information should you share?

The app's special feature is that you can choose what you want to share. For example, whether you show just your name and photo, or your full address and date of birth. Scanning a QR code at a bank or government office provides instant verification. Even if you don't have internet, you can view your pre-saved Aadhaar details. The app also includes an activity log, which shows when and where your Aadhaar has been used. This further enhances security.

How to download?
The download and setup process is quite simple. Go to the Play Store or App Store, search for the Aadhaar app, install it, and open it. Open the app, select your language, then enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number. An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number, and enter it to verify.

Following this, you must scan your face; this is called face authentication. Finally, set a 6-digit security PIN. That's it. Now your digital Aadhaar is ready on your phone. You can open it whenever you want and share the details as needed.

You can still use the old mAadhaar app, but its function is different. The new Aadhaar app is for everyday ID display. It allows you to easily manage the Aadhaar numbers of up to five family members and control privacy. Download e-Aadhaar PDFs from mAadhaar, order PVC cards, create virtual IDs, or update mobile email addresses. Both apps can be used simultaneously; they don't replace each other. The new app acts as a digital wallet, while mAadhaar is for paperwork. Both apps are free and are official UIDAI apps.

This app enhances both privacy and convenience. If your Aadhaar document gets damaged or forgotten, your Aadhaar will always be on your phone, making it easy to access. With this app, face and biometrics can be used to prevent misuse. Family members can manage everything from one phone, eliminating the hassle of downloading separate apps.
