An Indian resident in Dubai, Reshab Nagpal, shared a video on Instagram on November 2 showing rapid road repair work carried out by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The video, which has garnered about 48,500 views, documents how a pothole-ridden stretch was repaired within hours of a complaint being filed.

Nagpal said the work began after his friend lodged a complaint with the RTA regarding the damaged road. To his surprise, workers arrived with equipment by 12:30 pm and assured him that the repairs would be completed by evening. The clip showed the crew clearing, levelling, and resurfacing the road in real time.

Nagpal also pointed out that despite the ongoing repair work, traffic coordination was smooth. He noted that one person was coordinating the movement of vehicles on the single lane that remained open for traffic.

Expressing his amazement at the quick turnaround, Nagpal remarked that such work could take “weeks or months” in other places. “It is 4.30 right now. Road is done and operational. It has been painted as well. This is Dubai. This is why everyone loves Dubai,” he said in the video.

The video drew wide attention online, with several users commending Dubai’s efficiency. Comments included, “This is so so so good, we must learn from them,” and “Instant service.”

The RTA has encouraged residents to actively report infrastructure issues through various channels, including its Mahboub WhatsApp service, as part of its initiative to ensure quick maintenance and public participation.
