South Africa captain Laura Wolvaardt has been named the ICC Women’s Player of the Month for October following her magnificent performance in the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025. She led from the front and took her team to the final. Wolvaardt amassed the most runs in a single edition of the global tournament, accumulating 571 runs from nine innings at an average of 71.37 and a strike rate of 98.78.
She also became the second player to smash centuries in the semi-final and final of the same edition of the ICC event after Australian current captain Alyssa Healy.

“It is an honour to win this award. The tournament was full of outstanding matches. While winning the World Cup would have been ideal, we take pride in our road to the finale. We showed that the ICC title is within reach. I thank everyone for their support, and I will work hard to make you proud,” she said.
She is also the number one batter in the ICC Women’s ODI rankings.
South Africa spinner Senuran Muthuswamy was named the Men’s Player of the Month for October. He went past the challenge of Noman Ali and Rashid Khan.
“It feels great to get the award, especially after my performances in Test cricket. Playing for a team that won the ICC World Test Championship is a matter of pride. I was privileged to be a part of the Test series against Pakistan. I am happy to contribute with the bat and ball. I want to thank my teammates for their support,” he said. In a two-Test series against Pakistan, he scored 106 runs and took 11 wickets. The series ended 1-1.
