Hyderabad: Actor Prakash Raj appeared before the Crime Investigation Department (CID) on Wednesday for questioning in connection with the ongoing investigation into the promotion of online betting and gambling apps.
According to available information, the senior actor was questioned for over an hour regarding his alleged role in endorsing betting platforms.
Investigators sought details about the payments he received, the number of companies he promoted, and the individuals or agencies that approached him for the endorsements.
The case, which involves several film celebrities accused of promoting illegal betting apps, was recently transferred to the CID from local police.
As part of the probe, actor Vijay Deverakonda was also questioned by CID officials earlier.
Officials said further action would be taken based on the findings from the statements and evidence collected so far.
