According to PTI report, the IPL 2026 auction will be held in Abu Dhabi. This will be the third consecutive time that the auction is being held abroad.

When will the mini auction take place for IPL 2026?

The final date for the mini auction for the next season has not been announced yet, but according to the reports that have come, it can happen on any date between 13th to 16th December.

When will the retention list for IPL 2026 be released?

All teams will submit their retention lists before the IPL 2026 auction. They will have to release the list by 15th November. During this time it will become clear which teams have retained which players and which have been released.

The trading window is open before the auction, during which players will be exchanged. The news is that a big deal to send Sanju Samson to CSK and Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran to Rajasthan is almost certain.

How many players can teams retain in the mini auction?

In the mini auction, teams can retain as many players as they want, so the bidding is low and the auction ends in a day. In contrast, the mega auction takes place every 3 years, where only a maximum of 6 players are allowed to be retained.
