UPPSC RO-ARO Main Exam Date Announced: Find Out When?

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has announced the dates for the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Main Exam 2023.

This is great news for millions of candidates in Uttar Pradesh. The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has announced the dates for the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) Main Exam 2023. According to a notification issued by the Commission's Deputy Secretary, Virendra Mani Tripathi, the exam will be held on January 31 and February 1, 2026.

This exam is extremely important for candidates preparing for government jobs. Thousands of students participate in the RO-ARO exam conducted by the UPPSC every year. This year, 7,509 candidates were declared successful in the preliminary exam and will now appear for the main exam.

A total of 419 posts will be filled under this recruitment drive. These include 338 Review Officer (RO) posts, 79 Assistant Review Officer (ARO) posts, and 2 ARO (Accounting) posts. The preliminary exam results were released on September 16, 2025, with 6,093 candidates declared successful for the Review Officer, 1,386 for the Assistant Review Officer, and 30 for the ARO (Accounting).

The exam is over in two days

Now let's talk about the exam schedule. The RO-ARO main exam will be held over two days. On the first day, i.e., January 31, 2026, there will be General Studies and General Hindi/Drafting papers, while on the second day, i.e., February 1, 2026, there will be a Hindi Essay exam.

What time will the exam be?

The first shift of the first day will be from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, consisting of an objective General Studies paper. This paper will be similar to the General Studies paper of the preliminary exam. The second shift, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, will consist of General Hindi and Drafting papers. This paper will be divided into two parts. The first part, from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM, will consist of subjective questions, while the second part, from 4:30 PM to 5:00 PM, will consist of objective questions based on general vocabulary and grammar.

On the second day, February 1, 2026, only one paper, the Hindi Essay, will be conducted. The exam will run from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Candidates will have a total of three hours for this paper.
