After this, due to security reasons, 8 players of the team want to return home. But the Sri Lankan board has asked the players to continue. In the first match of this series, Pakistan defeated Sri Lanka by 6 runs in the first ODI played on 11 November. But now the series has stopped midway.

the tour will continue

It is being claimed in the reports that eight players of the team have decided to return home immediately after this blast. Players say that they are worried about the security of Islamabad and Rawalpindi. But the Sri Lanka Cricket Board has issued a statement asking the players to continue their tour.

The board said, ,All security concerns are being resolved with the PCB to ensure the safety of the team. Apart from this, PCB Chief Mohsin Naqvi posted on Twitter, writing, ,Thank you for the Sri Lankan team’s decision to continue with the Pakistan tour. The remaining ODI matches will now be played in Rawalpindi on 14 and 16 November. ,

2009 attack remembered

Earlier, a similar incident was seen in Pakistan in the year 2009 also. When there was a terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team bus outside Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. Many players were injured and many security personnel were killed in that attack. After that accident, no foreign team came to play Pakistan for almost a decade.

Tri series also in danger

After the three-match ODI series, Sri Lanka also had to play a triangular series with Pakistan and Zimbabwe. However, now SLC has said that the players who are returning home will be replaced by new players so that the team can participate in the future matches.
