Mumbai, 13 November (Read). OPPO is preparing to elevate smartphone photography in India with the launch of its new Lumo Lab alongside the upcoming Find X9 series. The lineup will include two models — the Find X9 and the more advanced Find X9 Pro.
At the heart of this new imaging push is the Find X9 Pro’s 200MP telephoto sensordesigned to deliver exceptionally detailed zoom performance. The Lumo Lab, an India-exclusive imaging initiative, aims to enhance real-world storytelling by capturing authentic skin tones and true-to-life colour reproduction. Much like a dedicated colour-grading studio that fine-tunes film visuals, Lumo Lab is intended to refine photos before they reach the user’s eyes. OPPO’s longstanding partnership with Hasselblad will continue, with Lumo Lab serving as an additional layer of enhancement.
The Find X8 series earned widespread praise across the tech community for its imaging capabilities, and expectations are high for the Find X9 series to push the boundaries further. The Find X9 Pro will support 13.2x lossless zoom, 10x optical zoom (230mm equivalent)and up to 200x digital zoom for photos. For video capture, users can zoom up to 50xoffering flexibility similar to what high-end mirrorless cameras attempt in hybrid modes.
The 200MP telephoto sensor is also poised to compete directly with Vivo’s upcoming X300 Prowhich is expected to feature a similar setup. OPPO’s approach, however, adds layers of computational photography through Lumo Lab and Hasselblad tuning to distinguish its output.
Creative modes will remain a major highlight. The beloved XPAN mode — known for its cinematic, wide-format imagery reminiscent of classic panoramic film cameras — will return. Additional features like Hasselblad Portrait Mode, Master Modeand Classic Film Simulation Profiles will cater to photography enthusiasts seeking versatility and emotional depth in their shots.
