Zayn Malik has made a move that excites One Direction fans. He returned as an active director of the band’s original company, PPM Music Limited.

Malik left the group in 2015. He had also stepped down from his directorial role in June 2016. His return comes as he prepares to launch his first Las Vegas residency in January. Many see this as a sign he may be reconnecting with Louis Tomlinson, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles.

A music insider told The Sun that Malik’s return is “a huge moment.” They added that Liam Payne’s passing last year brought the band members closer. Payne had always supported a reunion. The source explained that PPM stands for Princess Park Manor, the gated complex the boys moved into after winning The X Factor.

The insider also confirmed that the members have been in contact since Payne’s death. Payne tragically died in Argentina last year and had long encouraged the band to reunite.

Speculation increased when Malik and Tomlinson were spotted together earlier this year. Both are expected to appear in a Netflix road trip documentary in 2026. When asked about a possible reunion, Tomlinson said, “I heard that. I thought that was pretty interesting, yeah … Pretty astute. I suppose they’ll just have to wait and see.”

Fans are thrilled by these developments. Many hope that One Direction will perform together again. Malik’s return to PPM Music Limited and his upcoming projects with Tomlinson suggest a reunion could happen in the near future.
