Cameron Green, Australia's all-rounder, has bolstered his Ashes prospects with a solid innings in the Sheffield Shield match between Western Australia and Queensland at the WACA Ground.
Resuming on day three at a precarious 210/5 in response to Queensland's 390, Green was unbeaten on 49 and held the key for WA's innings.
He hit spinner Mitch Swepson for four on the first ball on Thursday to complete his half-century.
Green was looking good for a century but was dismissed on 94 by Michael Neser just after lunch.

Green showed his mettle with the bat for Western Australia. He came in at a crucial moment in the match's context and delivered the goods.
His knock came from 172 balls included eight fours and one six, but more importantly plenty of patience when the occasion called for it.
Following Green's dismissal, WA declared their innings at 322/7 with Aaron Hardie being the other notable scorer of the day.

In their second innings, Queensland ended the day at 187/7, leading by 255 runs.
Opener Matt Renshaw, who narrowly missed selection in Australia's Ashes squad, scored 51 off 73 balls while battling a knee complaint.
Jack Clayton also contributed with a score of 54.
However, the in-form Marnus Labuschagne was dismissed for just 11 runs by Brody Couch.

WA spinner Corey Rocchiccioli was the chief destroyer, taking 4/41 with all four wickets coming in two overs late in the day as Queensland collapsed from 183/4 to 184/8.
Green's impressive bowling figures of 1/13 off eight overs in his biggest spell since spinal surgery a year ago were followed by none for 17 off eight overs in Queensland's second innings.
