Kaushal made her debut in 1946 with Neecha Nagar, a film that went on to win international acclaim. She later starred alongside legendary actors, including Dilip Kumar and Raj Kapoor, becoming a prominent face of the black-and-white film era. In her later years, she continued to work, appearing in Kabir Singh (2019) and Laal Singh Chaddha (2022).
Her personal life had also drawn attention. After the tragic death of her elder sister in a car accident, Kamini married her sister’s husband, B.S. Sood, to ensure his children received a mother’s affection.
