Read News. Suture. A grand annual ‘Bal Mela’ was organized at Sandipani Vidyalaya, Seoni on 14 November 2025. Students from classes 1 to 5 enthusiastically participated in this fair, the main objective of which was to develop practical skills, entrepreneurship and team spirit among the children. Children prepared and sold fruit salads, smoothies and fruit chaat, the aim of which was to increase awareness among children and parents about healthy eating instead of junk food. This stall became very popular among all the visitors for spreading health awareness. Active role of the Principal and teachers – The guidance of the Principal and teachers was very important in the success of the fair.

Principal’s Statement – After lighting the lamp, the Principal appreciated the efforts of the children and said, “This Bal Mela is not just entertainment, but it is a mini-economy for our students. Here they learn pricing, budgeting and communicating with customers. Our school will continue to encourage the students to excel in every field.”

Contribution of teachers-Teachers actively guided the children at every step from setting up their stalls to their operation. Pradhan Pathak said in his address that the dedication and management skills demonstrated by the children is commendable. He especially expressed his gratitude to the parents for their presence, who encouraged their children. They ensured that the standards of hygiene and quality were followed at the food stalls and that the science models displayed at the educational stalls were technically sound. Teachers also acted as judges who selected the best stalls on the basis of creativity, management and profit and loss.

Collaboration of parents and teachers-A large number of parents participated in the Bal Mela, who saw the hard work and management skills of their children. The school principal gave credit for the success of the event to the children and the team of teachers who provided guidance. He said that the children not only made sales but also maintained profit and loss accounts, which shows their practical knowledge.

Other Major Attractions-Handicraft Stalls: Artifacts and decorative items made from waste materials were sold.

Entertainment Games: Everyone took full part in the ‘Target Game’ and ‘Puzzle Corner’ organized by the children.

The fair ran successfully from 10 am to 3 pm. At the end, the highest earning and most creative stalls were rewarded by the Principal and teachers, which doubled the enthusiasm of the children. This event was a memorable and inspiring experience for Sandipani Vidyalaya. The Principal of the school appreciated the efforts of all the children and said that such events give children an opportunity to step out of the four walls of the classroom and hone their hidden talents. He said, “Our aim is not just to impart bookish knowledge but to ensure all-round development of children.”

​The presence of parents in the Children’s Fair was also commendable, who observed the stalls made by their children and encouraged them. The event was a memorable experience for the children, which provided them an opportunity to learn important skills while having fun.
