The shooting of leading Telugu actor Ram Charan’s upcoming film ‘Peddi’ in Delhi has been postponed due to major security reasons. An important part of this film was scheduled to be shot in the Red Fort and its surrounding areas on 15 and 16 November.

After Mumbai-Hyderabad, the producers had already taken permission for this schedule taken in Delhi.
But the bomb attack near the Red Fort-Metro station area in the capital Delhi on November 10 put brakes on the entire plan. Thirteen people died and many were injured in this attack.

According to sources, the film unit had blocked the dates of 15–16 November with permission for shooting, but after this security incident it became necessary to change those dates. The security agencies have currently stopped the permission process of that area and the production team has decided to stop the shooting for the time being.

The story of ‘Peddi’ is said to be based on a rural-sports background, starring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in the lead roles. The music of the film is composed by ace composer AR Rahman and it is planned to release on 27 March 2026.

The production team has said that this postponement is an integral part of the schedule change and that “safety has been given top priority”. The shooting will be rescheduled to a new suitable date, with the location and time being reviewed.

Thus, this delay in the Delhi-location schedule may affect the completion of the film, but the team believes that they are willing to accept this delay for the sake of quality work. A new schedule will be released in the next few days.

This incident has had a two-way impact – on the one hand, it has affected the preparedness of the film industry, and on the other hand, questions have been raised about the security arrangements of the capital. It has become a shining example that when unexpected incidents happen in public places, there is an immediate reaction on film-sets too.
