Sausages can be made tastier when cooking them in the air fryer with one simple extra step. There are numerous ways you can cook sausages. Some people always use the grill to cook their sausages to minimise clean-up. However, others always fry them in a pan, using butter or oil to get them perfectly cooked. However, you can also cook delicious sausages in an air fryer, and it can give you amazing results.
Sausages are just one of the food items that can turn out great when you simply chuck them into the air fryer. Air fryers are remarkable machines that have gained immense popularity in the UK. They are used to make a wide range of items, including roast potatoes and even homemade air fryer pizza. Sausages are one of the traditional British foods that many households use their air fryer for.
Multiple experts have explained how you can make sausages taste better when you are using the air fryer to make them. Although the air fryer is a simple machine for cooking your sausages, one extra step is a great way to make them tastier.
Recipe expert Sew White explained that brushing your sausages with just a little bit of oil makes all the difference. While an air fryer uses less oil, just a little bit makes all the difference.
"After poking, brush the sausages lightly with some oil," said the author. "This will help them brown evenly. You can use any oil you like, I used vegetable oil but olive oil or sunflower oil work well too."
They added: "The best tip I can give is to avoid overcrowding the air fryer basket. While it can be tempting to add as many sausages as possible, doing so will prevent the air from circulating properly."
"This may result in unevenly cooked sausages," they said.
They also urge air fryer owners to consider the size of the sausages they are cooking. If their sausages are larger, they will need more time to cook evenly.
It is also a good idea to turn the sausages every so often to help them brown evenly on all sides while cooking through to the middle.
